Mr. Danas represents companies in intellectual property, business and antitrust litigation, including cases involving patent infringement, trademark infringement, breach of contract, securities violations and price fixing.  His past and present clients include Stamps.com Inc., Web.com, Inc., SGL Carbon AG, DeBeers Consolidated Mines Ltd., ABB, and other companies and individuals in a variety of different fields and industries.  Mr. Danas has published articles in the area of complex litigation, with his article The Interstate Class Action Jurisdiction Act of 1999: Another Congressional Attempt to Federalize State Law, 49 EMORY L.J. 1305 (2000) winning finalist honors in the American Bar Association’s annual award for best student-authored law review article.

Mr. Danas is a 2001 graduate of Emory University School of Law, where he graduated with honors and was a board member of the Emory Law Journal, and clerked for the Honorable U.W. Clemon, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.  Mr. Danas is not yet admitted to practice in California

  • Representation of Stamps.com Inc., the world’s leading provider of Internet-based postage, in patent infringement litigation involving digital signature and encryption technology, and Internet postage technology.  In addition, Mr. Danas is representing Stamps.com in a trademark opposition proceeding. 

  • Representing Web.com, Inc., a major web hosting company, in multiple litigation matters in California. 

  • Representing Mind Wurx, LLC in litigation involving patent infringement, contract and business tort claims involving an anti-theft system for shopping carts. 

  • Represented SGL Carbon AG and SGL Carbon LLC, German producers and American Distributors of carbon cathode block/graphite electrodes/carbon electrodes respectively, in civil antitrust suit filed in federal district court. 

  • Represented ABB in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act internal investigation covering multiple foreign jurisdictions including Brazil, Nigeria, and Venezuela. 

  • Represented Turkish cellular communications corporation Turkcell regarding design and implementation of document retention policies.   

  • Advised CEO of major New York pharmacy chain regarding stock options cash out and exit strategy in advance of class action securities litigation.

  • Represented international law firm at trial and on emergency appeal in New York state court against claims of attorney malpractice. 

  • Represented Credit Suisse First Boston, LLC in employment-related dispute before NASD brought by individual employee. 

  • Represented DeBeers Consolidated Mines Ltd. in trademark infringement suit.

  • Represented high net worth individual client in connection with settlement of claims in Sotheby’s and Christie’s auction house class action litigation.  Prepared claim forms, filed with special master.

  • Represented offshore hedge fund in SEC insider trading investigation. 

  • Represented Merrill Lynch in connection with Section 11 federal securities action litigation. 

  • Advising French chemical corporation Rhodia (formally Rhone-Poulenc) in connection with U.S. product liability legal obligations regarding the manufacture and sale of tobacco cigarette filters. 

  • Represented accounting firm Deloitte & Touche in securities fraud and financial reporting suit in federal court in New York.

  • Represented John Henry, then owner of the Florida Marlins baseball team, on various matters including those in connection with his renovation or construction of a new baseball stadium. 

  • Represented Imagyn Medical Technologies, Inc. in class action shareholder derivative suit.
